Senior Living
Seniors are busy! You have your academic life, your sports life, your social life and…your future life less than a year away. At NMSS, we’re here to help you navigate this important time every step of the way. We make sure you’re on track to graduate and ready for your future. We created a graduation checklist of courses and projects needed to graduate to help you organize your time. We supplement that with our customized Millennium Scholar Diploma Requirements worksheet that details our Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRs). These include our community service requirement, leadership demonstration, and a digital portfolio demonstrating your digital media technology skills.
Every item on the Millennium Scholar Diploma requirements serves the following purposes:
1) Push you to go beyond the average student or minimum requirement.
2) Enhance your college application.
3) Make you a competitive contender for college admissions at universities throughout the country.
4) Demonstrate and exhibit the NMSS ESLRs in your own individualized way.
Senior VIP Citizens
We are serious about your future at NMSS. Our guidance counselor, Mrs. Sampson, holds senior meetings throughout the year to assist with college planning. She offers one-on-one assistance in the college application and FAFSA process. All of our seniors graduate with college credits to give them a head start to their future. And if college isn’t in your future? We’re here to help with entrepreneurial and other career opportunities too.
Senior Moments
No way senior year is all work and no play at our small, tight-knit high school! At NMSS we treat our seniors to an array of activities to celebrate them. Of course we have the traditional prom and graduation ceremonies but we celebrate in other ways too- in fact, we have a whole week dedicated to fun for our seniors. Come late to school and then head somewhere different every day: the beach, the movies, an arcade, local restaurants, and an outdoor picnic. We also honor our seniors with an Awards Night and the chance to sing the National Anthem or give a speech at graduation. You deserve this!
