We want to show you around our fun-filled campus here at New Millennium Secondary School (NMSS), a tuition-free 9th-12th grade high school in Gardena, California. We’ve been a charter school here since 2008, preparing students to become life-long learners and dynamic leaders.

NMSS’s main office is the heart of information for students, parents, teachers, and staff alike. We’re here for ALL the questions! Inside, we hold space for our principal, administrators, and counselors. Can’t remember your schedule? Come here. Want help with college financial aid? We’ve got you covered. Need a work permit so you can get a job outside of school? Got one…and we might even have a suggestion of who is hiring. Having a rough day and just want to see a friendly face. Yup, we’re here for that too. We’re here for you exactly how you are, right now.
Class Room For All
Inside our roomy classrooms, we gather as groups and for customized help as every student deserves to grow into their full potential. We meet you where you are and encourage your huge potential- no really, you can do great things.
We celebrate culture, transforming our spaces like Ms. Peet did for her Spanish classes’ Dia De Los Muertos exploration. Students learned about the history of this important day, new language, and infused art into dioramas.
Speaking of, we recently held an entire day devoted to culture, particularly the FOOD. Yum. This was too big for a classroom so we held it outside in our amazing courtyard…the hub of our engaged public high school.
Small School, Big Spaces
Our generous outside space that we use for school assemblies, performances, sporting events, practices, and even eating lunch is where we love coming together! This is where we catch up, throw a ball, host our college fair and hold our famous lip-sync challenge!
Sports Center
Okay, so NMSS has many perks including free college credit, personalized attention with your own advisor, career planning, clubs, and awesome teachers, but did you also know that you can play on Gardena High’s sports teams? That’s right, after getting a lot of academic focus during the day, stretch out on the big athletic field or run down the basketball court at our next-door neighbor’s facilities. Best of both school worlds!
