One minute you’re learning your ABC’s and the next you’re going to high school?! The days are long but the years are short for sure. Luckily, at New Millennium Secondary School (NMSS), our tuition-free high school located in Gardena, California, we make the step up to high school easy!
Orient Yourself
NMSS is ALL about helping students succeed and this starts before school even begins. We realize the transition from middle school to high school is huge and we’re here for you. We host a freshman orientation that introduces you to our school- both the campus and our close-knit culture. It’s a week long and you’re divided into groups so you can get to know the other students before your first day of school. Like our school, this week is entirely free.
During the school orientation we:
– explain California’s A-G requirements
– go over our College Planning Calendar that starts as a freshman
– introduce teachers, advisors, and staff and how they can help you

We focus on helping you grow from the guided style of learning you had in elementary school to independent learning you need after high school.
